As a Forklift Operator, you’ll move pallets and other materials through the warehouse, support production requirements in those areas, and load/unload customer trailers. You may also sort pallets by hand and repair damaged wooden pallets by hand in some locations. This role is vital to the success of our Relogistics site!

Pay and schedule

Hourly Pay: $19.00/hr

Shift: 1st Shift Thursday - Monday 5:00am - 1:30pm

Location: Romulus, MI 48174

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to the appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Forklifts must be operated with extreme care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand-sorting wooden pallets, when required
• Repairing wooden pallets using a nail gun, when required
• Maintain a clean & safe working environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Work environment and accommodations

• Ability to work in extreme conditions, including heat, cold, and air particulates
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for extended shifts
• The noise level varies by location
• PPE is required (eye protection, ear protection at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• May be required to lift pallets by hand (50–75 lbs)
