FORKLIFT OPERATOR Job at 48forty Solutions in Jacksonville

Overview

As a Forklift Operator, you will move pallets and other materials through different areas of the warehouse, support production requirements, and load and unload customer trailers. You may also sort pallets by hand and repair damaged wooden pallets in some locations. This role is vital to the success of our Relogistics site.

Hourly Pay 16.50/hr

Shift 1st Shift

Location Jacksonville, FL 32219

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Operate forklifts with care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand-sort wooden pallets when required
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willingness to work overtime as needed

Working Environment and Requirements

• Ability to work in extreme conditions including elements, heat, cold, and air particulates
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for extended periods
• The noise level varies by location
• Personal Protective Equipment PPE required (eye protection, ear protection at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities including close, distance, and color vision
• May be required to lift pallets by hand weighing 50 to 75 lbs
