As a Forklift Operator, you’ll move pallets and other materials through the different areas of the warehouse, supporting production requirements in those areas, as well as loading and unloading customer trailers. You may also sort pallets by hand and repair damaged wooden pallets by hand in some locations. This role is vital to the success of our Relogistics site.

Hourly Pay: $18.00/hr

Shift(s): 1st Shift Monday-Friday 6:00am-2:30pm, some Sat hours required

Location: Palmetto, FL 34221

Responsibilities

• Move sorted pallet stacks to appropriate staging area using Relogistics forklift equipment
• Operate forklifts with care, adhering to company safety procedures at all times
• Hand-sort wooden pallets when required
• Repair wooden pallets using a nail gun when required
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED
• Forklift certification preferred
• 1-3 years of forklift experience
• Previous experience in a warehouse, logistics, lumber, carpentry, lumber, welding, roofing, and/or construction is strongly preferred
• Willingness to work in a labor-intensive environment
• Ability to communicate effectively
• Willing to work overtime as needed

Work Environment and Safety

• Ability to work in extreme conditions including heat, cold, and air particulates
• Repetitively adjust body position to bend, stoop, walk, turn, pivot, and sit in a forklift for varying shift lengths
• Noise level varies by location
• Personal protective equipment (PPE) required (eye protection, ear protection at several locations, safety shoes)
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, and color vision
• May be required to lift pallets by hand (50-75 lbs)
