This job is seasonal. A seasonal position indicates that there is a start and stop date to your employment with the YMCA of SENC. Soccer staff are expected to serve during the soccer season, and may be eligible for various roles and pay rates depending on age, experience, and qualifications.
POSITION TYPE: Part-time, non-exempt (hourly) position
WAGE RANGE: $12.44 - $15.55/hour depending on qualifications and roles selected for. Referees earn between $15 - $30 per game.
Position Summary
Soccer Program Workers are responsible for the day-to-day activities in providing soccer to our community.
Duties will include: Working with children ages 2 to 17, working with adult program participants, coaching, refereeing, field maintenance, field monitoring, concessions, offsite events, driving the Little Bus, cleaning, and administrative tasks.
Soccer Site Lead duties include coaching with USSF certifications, refereeing, and program coordination. Referee duties include refereeing assigned games with specific pay rates based on age groups and certifications.
This is an entry-level position under the direction of the Director of Soccer, aligned with the YMCA’s mission.
Essential Functions
- Organizational, public relations, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to supervise volunteers, participants, and staff.
- Work independently and stay on task.
- Represent the YMCA professionally.
- Complete First Aid, CPR certifications within 60 days.
- Complete training certifications as required.
Qualifications
- Enjoy working with kids.
- High school graduate or at least 16 years old and attending school.
- Experience in sports organizations preferred.
- Dependable transportation required.
