Oncology RN Job Details
- Location: Columbus, OH 43210
- Healthcare Setting: Bone Marrow Transplant / Oncology (Units: 14 East, 14 West, 15 West)
- Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
- Start Date: September 22, 2025
- End Date: January 12, 2026 (option to extend up to January 17, 2026)
- Duration: 16 weeks
- Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30, Night: 19:00–07:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160–$2210
- Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
- Unit Size: 36 beds, daily census ~33
Registered Nurse Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience
- Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
- Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
- Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
- Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
- Experience with Epic charting system
- Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
- Compliance with Ohio fingerprinting requirements
- Two professional references (one from a manager/director or leadership role)
Oncology RN Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients
- Administer chemotherapy and blood products per ONS guidelines
- Monitor telemetry, interpret lab values, manage central lines and ports
- Participate in infection prevention and safety initiatives
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
- Support stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy patients
- Use clinical equipment like telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, pumps, beds
- Maintain flexibility with shifts and weekend coverage
