Oncology RN Job Details

• Location: Columbus, OH 43210
• Healthcare Setting: Bone Marrow Transplant / Oncology (Units: 14 East, 14 West, 15 West)
• Assignment Type: Locum Tenens / Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: September 22, 2025
• End Date: January 12, 2026 (option to extend up to January 17, 2026)
• Duration: 16 weeks
• Shifts: 3x12-hour rotating shifts (Day: 07:00–19:30, Night: 19:00–07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2160–$2210
• Patient Population: Adults and Geriatrics
• Unit Size: 36 beds, daily census ~33

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year of recent Medical-Surgical and Oncology RN experience
• Active RN license (compact or Ohio state license required)
• Graduate of an ACEN or CCNE accredited nursing program
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
• Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) Chemotherapy Certification
• Oncology Certified Nurse (OCN) preferred
• Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) preferred
• Experience with Epic charting system
• Ability to float to other MedSurg Oncology units as needed
• Compliance with Ohio fingerprinting requirements
• Two professional references (one from a manager/director or leadership role)

Oncology RN Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to oncology and bone marrow transplant patients
• Administer chemotherapy and blood products per ONS guidelines
• Monitor telemetry, interpret lab values, manage central lines and ports
• Participate in infection prevention and safety initiatives
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams
• Support stem cell transplants and CAR-T therapy patients
• Use clinical equipment like telemetry monitors, bladder scanners, pumps, beds
• Maintain flexibility with shifts and weekend coverage
