CVOR RN Details

• Job Title: CVOR Registered Nurse – Locum Tenens (Travel Nursing)
• Location: Greensboro, NC 27401 (North Carolina healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Cardiac Operating Room (Open Heart Surgery)
• Employment Type: Travel/Contract Nursing
• Assignment Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 9/30/2025 – End: 12/30/2025)
• Shifts: 4x10-hour day shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
• Weekly Hours: 40
• Call Requirement: Yes (30-minute response time required)
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,470–$2,540

CVOR RN Qualifications

• Active and valid Registered Nurse (RN) license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR RN experience, including open heart surgery cases
• Ability to scrub and circulate open heart procedures (required)
• Travel nurse experience preferred (or significant open heart OR experience)
• Certifications: ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
• Proficiency with ECMO, LVAD, and Impella cardiac devices
• Experience using EPIC charting system
• Trauma Level II experience preferred
• COVID-19 and Flu vaccinations required (medical/religious exemptions accepted)
• Must pass EKG exam during compliance (2 attempts allowed)
• Education verification required; diploma must not be from a flagged institution
• Clean background check (no open cases)
• Ability to float to other campuses as needed

CVOR RN Responsibilities

• Scrub and circulate for open heart and complex cardiac surgical procedures (CABG, valve replacements/repairs, aortic dissections, pericardial windows, thoracotomies, VATS)
• Assist with advanced cardiac devices and procedures: ECMO, LVAD/RVAD, Impella, Intra-Aortic Balloon Pump, TAVI/TAVR
• Manage surgical wounds, drains, and wound vacs
• Support minimally invasive and robotic chest cases (lobectomy, segmentectomy)
• Maintain strict adherence to scheduling, attendance, and compliance requirements
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver high-quality patient care
• Complete all required modules and orientation as assigned
