CVOR RN Job Details – New Haven, CT
- Assignment Type: Locum tenens (Travel Nursing Contract)
- Location: New Haven, Connecticut 06510
- Facility: Short Term Acute Care, Level I Trauma Center
- Unit: Cardiac Surgery Operating Room (CVOR)
- Start Date: September 15, 2025
- End Date: December 15, 2025
- Contract Duration: 13 weeks
- Shift: Days, 3x12-hour shifts (07:00 – 17:30)
- Hours per Week: 36
- Estimated Weekly Salary: $2520 - $2700
- On-Call: Two calls per M-F week (7p-11p or 7p-7a) and two 24-hour calls per schedule; one late day per week
- Guaranteed Hours: Yes
- Scrub Color: Provided
- Charting System: Epic
- Minimum 2 years of recent CVOR Registered Nurse experience (1.5 years with Level I Trauma or travel nursing experience considered)
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) license; Connecticut RN license required prior to start (pending accepted)
- Certifications: ACLS and BLS (American Heart Association)
- Proven ability to independently scrub and circulate cardiac surgery cases
- Experience with adult and geriatric patient populations in a clinical setting
- Professional reference required
- Flu vaccination required (no exemptions)
- Local candidates within 75 miles not eligible
- Independently scrub and circulate for complex cardiac surgical procedures, including CABG, valve replacements, ECMO, LVAD, TAVR, thoracotomies, and more
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to deliver safe, high-quality patient care
- Participate in on-call rotation and respond promptly to emergent cardiac cases
- Float within scope of practice to support facility needs
- Accurately document patient care using Epic electronic health records
- Maintain compliance with hospital protocols and infection control standards
