Job Summary
The Room Attendant is responsible for ensuring guest rooms are cleaned, sanitized, and maintained in accordance with Driftwood Hospitality Management’s established procedures and quality standards. This role delivers a superior guest experience by upholding cleanliness, comfort, and attention to detail. Duties include replenishing amenities, reporting maintenance issues, and adhering to safety and hygiene protocols to meet or exceed company expectations.
Essential Job Functions
- Stocks housekeeping bag to ensure enough cleaning supplies, equipment, and amenities are available to properly clean each room.
- Observes knocking procedures upon entering a guest room.
- Cleans the guest rooms assigned. Ensures the amenities are stocked for each cleaned room. Completes entire housekeeping checklist.
- Accurately marks clean rooms for supervisor inspection.
- Reports any damages or hazards in guest rooms (e.g., burned out bulbs, broken furniture).
- Secures guest room doors upon exiting the room.
- Keeps corridors and service areas neat at all times.
- Turns in lost and found items and guest room keys.
- Follows all company policies and procedures; adheres to safety and security procedures and rules; knows department fire prevention and emergency procedures.
- Utilizes protective equipment and reports unsafe conditions, accidents, injuries, near-misses, or property damage to management.
- Maintains a neat, clean, and well-groomed appearance (standards in team member handbook).
- Performs related duties as requested by management and assists other housekeeping personnel when needed.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Ability to bend and reach to dust, clean, and make beds and bathrooms.
- Stand and walk for varying lengths of time; good communication with guests and co-workers.
- Visually inspect rooms for cleanliness and guest belongings left behind.
- Use written communication to mark completed rooms on daily paperwork.
- Fine motor skills to perform cleaning duties.
Physical Demands
- Lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Frequent twisting, bending, stooping, reaching, standing, walking, talking, hearing, seeing, and smiling.
