This is a 3rd Shift position with a 12% shift differential

Provide Operations Engineering support to the Circuit Card Assembly Factory located in Andover, MA. Primary responsibilities will be to support the Operation of SMT Process lines, which includes automated and programmable equipment, for multiple products. Additional responsibilities include process improvement, cycle time reduction, defect prevention and operator support. Individual will be required to participate in process improvement initiatives, establishment of process base line metrics, SPC implementation, Defect prevention, and process data analysis.

What You Will Do

  • Advanced knowledge of Solder defect prevention detection, and assessment to ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3 solder joint specifications
  • Translating engineering design requirements into formal manufacturing process documentation
  • Computer and machine programming for manufacturing automation
  • Dispositioning of discrepant hardware
  • Leading root cause and corrective action investigations to solve problems and prevent recurrence
  • Participate in process improvement and cost reduction initiatives using Lean Manufacturing methodology
  • Manufacturing process development and support
  • Conducting safety / ergonomic assessments
  • Interaction with senior personnel on technical matters often requiring coordination between organizations and / or suppliers.
  • Tool/fixture development to drive ergonomics and reductions in cost and/or defect

Qualifications You Must Have

  • Typically Requires a Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM) and minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
  • Minimum 1 year of previous manufacturing experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer

  • Experience in applying Lean Manufacturing principals
  • Knowledge and experience with ANSI J-STD-001 Class 3 & IPC-CC-830
  • Experience with supporting circuit card assembly production floor, (process and/or quality focus).
  • Specialized Tooling Development (Jigs, Fixtures, Specialized Packaging Development)
  • Experience supporting the following equipment:
  • SMT Screen Printers and Solder Paste Inspection Machines
  • SMT Adhesive Placement Machines
  • SMT Component Placement Machines
  • Automated Optical inspection Machines
  • Reflow Ovens
  • X-Ray Inspection Equipment and touch up operations
  • Knowledge and ability to apply Six Sigma principles and techniques
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines
  • Proficiency with CAD solid modeling tools
  • Active DoD security clearance (confidential)
  • Experience with automated equipment and programming
