We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Production Supervisor to join our team in Plano, TX. If you are looking to expand your career in the printing industry with an organization that is experiencing steady and rapid growth, this could be the role for you!

  • 2nd Shift: 2:00pm-10:30pm
  • 3rd Shift: 10:00pm-6:30am

Responsibilities

The Production Supervisor will supervise and coordinate activities of press operators by performing the following duties.

  • Inspects plates, web and other materials to verify conformance to specifications and match jobs to job specs.
  • Checks production schedule and verifies plates, inks and other required materials are available before an order goes to a Press Operator.
  • Directs setup and adjustments of presses with high attention to detail.
  • Maintains equipment and may perform minor repairs when necessary.
  • Studies production schedules and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignments.
  • Enforces safety regulations and adheres to company policies.
  • Interprets specifications and job orders, assigns duties, and adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
  • Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance and product quality.
  • Implements Lean Manufacturing procedures and participates in Lean development and implementation committees.
  • Suggests changes to working conditions and equipment use to increase efficiency, reduce setup time, downtime and scrap.
  • Analyzes and resolves work problems or assists workers in solving issues.
  • Initiates plans to motivate workers and provides training and guidance; trains new Press Operators on proper and safe tool use.
  • Maintains production records in an organized manner.
  • Coordinates activities with other management team members across departments.
  • Performs activities of workers supervised as needed and keeps work areas clean and organized.
  • Other duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Directly supervises personnel in the Press and Finishing departments.
  • Performs supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws, including training, planning, directing work, appraising performance, and addressing employee relations issues.

Qualifications

  • Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school; five or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Previous supervisory or lead experience of at least two years with a successful track record for leading teams.
  • Five plus years of production experience in a manufacturing environment. Printing, packaging or similar industry experience is required.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals; effectively present information and respond to questions from employees and management.
  • Regularly required to stand and walk; ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds with or without mechanical assistance; loads over 50 pounds require mechanical assistance or assistance from others.
  • Specific vision abilities required include close vision, distance vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
