  • Bonus will be calculated based on the FTE at the time of payment. No bonus for Per Diem.

Position Summary

The CNA is responsible for providing each assigned resident with routine daily nursing care and services in accordance with the residents' assessment and care plan, as directed by supervisors. As a Certified Nursing Assistant, you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out your duties.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Administrative Functions
  • Uses wristband and photo to identify residents before treatments, meals, etc.
  • Documents all cares in EMR
  • Reports changes in residents' conditions to Charge Nurse
  • Maintains confidentiality of resident information and reports violations

Personnel

  • Performs tasks according to policies and supervisor instructions
  • Cooperates with staff to meet residents' needs
  • Creates a warm, calm environment
  • Participates in meetings and training

Personal Nursing Care Functions

  • Assists residents with grooming, mobility, and vital signs
  • Participates in resident transfers and post-mortem care as instructed

Food Service Functions

  • Prepares residents for meals and assists with feeding
  • Records food and fluid intake

Staff Development

  • Attends training and orientation programs

Safety and Sanitation

  • Follows safety precautions and reports hazards
  • Uses safety equipment when moving residents

Equipment and Supply Functions

  • Uses equipment safely and reports defects

Resident Rights

  • Maintains confidentiality and treats residents with dignity
  • Reports abuse or property misappropriation

Working Conditions

  • Works in various areas, may work beyond hours, and on call during emergencies

Skills and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or HSE
  • Current NYS CNA certification and CPR
  • Computer proficiency and English language skills
