Responsibilities

• Operate end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) safely and efficiently.
• Perform pre- and post-trip inspections; oil, grease, service and make normal operating adjustments to the truck; and lift/move transported materials as needed.
• Load and unload large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control as required.
• Connect and disconnect pup trailers; maneuver and back up with double and triple pup configurations.
• Maintain time and material records and communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Ensure the equipment is in good working condition and perform minor servicing; report major problems to the supervisor.
• Follow verbal and written instructions and work as a team player.

Qualifications

• Class A license.
• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment to be operated.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently; understand different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Ability to communicate effectively; skill in maneuvering and backing with double and triple pup.
• Ability to keep accurate time and material records.
• Must follow verbal and written instructions.
• Must be able to climb, sit/drive, shift gears, and perform manual tasks such as lifting 10 to 30 lbs, changing wheels, and using hand tools as needed.
• Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system and work as a team member.
