Responsibilities

• Operate end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment to deliver soils, aggregates and other materials to residential and commercial locations.
• Perform pre and post trip inspections and routine maintenance tasks, oiling, greasing, servicing and making normal operating adjustments to the Truck.
• Load and unload large quantities of water for compaction and/or dust control as needed.
• Maintain time and material records and communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Connect and disconnect pup trailer and ensure equipment is in safe, efficient working condition; perform minor servicing and refer major problems to the supervisor as appropriate.
• Follow verbal and written instructions; have maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup.
• Lift/move transported materials as needed (the employee may occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 30 lbs).
• Adhere to safety practices and contribute to a safe, productive workplace.

Qualifications

• Thorough operational knowledge and skills of end dumps and/or belly dumps (with and without pups) and related equipment to be operated.
• Class A license.
• Ability to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Must keep time and material records.
• Must follow verbal and written instruction.
• Knowledge of different types and sizes of aggregates.
• Must have maneuvering and backing skills with double and triple pup.
• Must be able to communicate effectively on the radio system.
• Must be able to connect and disconnect pup trailer.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move from 10 to 30 lbs and be able to climb, sit/drive, shift gears, cover/uncover loads, change wheels, adjust lugs, use hand tools such as wrenches/screwdrivers.
• Must be able to operate equipment safely and efficiently.
