Shift: Evening Shift

Job Description

Performs all general maintenance, preventative maintenance, repairs, installations, testing and monitoring of the hospital's electrical systems and wiring, including high, medium and low voltage systems and communication (voice and data) wiring.

Safety and regulatory compliance is a condition of employment. May be required to work other shifts as well as rotating schedules and overtime.

Requirements

  • High school graduate or equivalent plus accredited trade or vocational training with one (1) year minimum experience, preferably in a hospital setting.
  • General knowledge of NEC, NFPA and local code requirements.
  • Previously completed apprenticeship program highly desirable but not required.

Special Equipment, Skills Or Other Requirements

Working knowledge and ability to utilize standard electrical testing equipment including but not limited to VOM, ammeters, circuit tracers, meggers, ground fault detection equipment, etc.

Experience with high voltage switch gear, low voltage circuitry, emergency power systems, UPS power systems and emergency generators.

Ability to read and interpret blue prints and electrical schematics.

Work Environment And Hazards

Office/clinical/outdoors/industrial setting. Exposure class I.

Physical Demands

Heavy work. Requires lifting, pushing, pulling, climbing, walking, standing, and carrying.
