Summary

This position is for Directorate of Family and Morale, Welfare and Recreation (FMWR) at Fort Drum, New York. FMWR includes Child and Youth Services, Business Recreation, and Support Services, which enable Soldier readiness, support the resilience and well-being of Soldiers and Families.

Incentives and Bonuses

Duties

  • Operates a small full-service coffee shop, preparing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks.
  • Prepares and serves simple food items.
  • Records sales, takes customer payments for goods by operating a cash register, balances cash drawer at the end of the day.
  • Maintains a clean and sanitary work area, utensils, equipment and coffee bar.

Requirements

  • Direct Deposit and Social Security Card is required.
  • Meet qualification/eligibility/background requirements for this position.
  • A one-year probationary period may be required.
  • Satisfactorily complete an employment verification (E-Verify) check.
  • Regularly lifts and carries items weighing up to 10 pounds.
  • Occasionally lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Stands for prolonged periods.
  • Satisfactory completion of a minimum of 4 hours initial food sanitation and safety training is required within 30 days of employment and a minimum of 4 hours refresher training annually.
  • Must possess the physical ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 20 pounds.
  • Subject to satisfactory completion of all pre-employment checks in accordance with Army Regulation 215-3.
  • This position requires a favorably adjudicated T1/NACI or T3/ANACI background investigation.
  • An employer referred pre-employment physical examination is required.
  • Work schedule will be irregular. The incumbent will be required to work, nights, weekends, holidays, and/or unique events.

Qualifications

  • Math skills necessary to calculate patron bills and inventory, AND
  • Skill in mixing and serving the full range of coffee beverages and other specialty non-alcoholic drinks, AND
  • Experience utilizing a commercial espresso machine, AND
  • Ability to cross train and monitor the work of other staff.
