Job Title: Jr. Firmware Test EngineerJob Description
Work with new technologies that are vital to product development. Successfully collaborate with both software and hardware product teams. Methodically review user stories, acceptance criteria, and product requirements with customer experience in mind to assure interfaces are consistent and meet the functionality. Collaborate with cross-functional Product Development teams to understand the requirements and validate their testability. Work with firmware engineers to better understand the proposed design solutions and offer constructive input. Participate in design, API, firmware, and testing case reviews. Translate high-level product requirements to firmware test scenarios. Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans. Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities. Develop timely and accurate software testing status reports and metrics to distribute to the engineering team. Conduct performance testing to evaluate system scalability, stability, and response time. Consistently enter and track defects/bugs found in JIRA and perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved. Interface with engineers of various disciplines such as hardware and software to understand the technology and determine the root cause of problems. Enthusiastically research new tools, technologies, and testing processes.

Essential Skills Python or C programming
Manual testing
Firmware/embedded testing
Bachelor's or higher in Electrical/Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a relevant engineering discipline
Exposure to automation
Exposure to hardware
Additional Skills & Qualifications Experience with oscilloscopes and power supplies
Automation and LabVIEW experience
Experience writing firmware test scenarios, test cases, and test plans
Experience in managing test environments and creating CI/CD pipelines
Work Environment This is a hybrid role allowing 2 days offsite once up and running. The company has surpassed 150 employees, offering a lab and office environment with flexible hours. Lunch is provided twice a week to everyone, and the company is currently developing an internal stock plan, growth plan, and a 'no limit PTO' policy. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $43.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
