As the company continues to grow, they are seeking a highly experienced
Senior Hardware Controls Engineer
to join their team in
Eden Prairie, MN . This position plays a pivotal role in designing, developing, and supporting hardware control systems in alignment with UL 508A/698A and other industry standards. The ideal candidate will bring a strong hands-on engineering background and extensive experience in hardware design for industrial automation. What YOU get to DO at this growing company: Design hardware control systems including motor control centers, power distribution systems, and PLC I/O configurations. Develop detailed electrical schematics using AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or similar tools. Specify and select electrical components, generating complete Bills of Materials (BOMs) for procurement and fabrication. Ensure all designs comply with NEC, UL, NFPA 70/79, and client-specific requirements. Collaborate with project managers, system integrators, and panel fabrication teams from design through commissioning. Provide technical support during panel build, testing, and field commissioning phases. Troubleshoot and resolve hardware-related issues across all project stages. What you NEED to SUCCEED in this challenging role: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Controls Engineering, or a related discipline (preferred). 7-10 years of experience in hardware controls design, preferably in industrial or municipal automation environments. In-depth knowledge of UL 508A/698A standards for control panel design and component selection. High proficiency in AutoCAD Electrical, EPLAN, or equivalent electrical design software. Experience working on water and wastewater process control systems (strongly preferred). Excellent documentation, organization, and communication skills.
