We are seeking a dynamic WHS Manager to lead a comprehensive safety program that touches thousands of lives and to act as a catalyst for change, shaping the future of workplace health while delivering real-time solutions that protect our people. Responsibilities
Serve as the site’s safety leader, orchestrating the Global WHS Program with precision and passion, partnering with Operations to weave safety into daily operations. Use data-driven insights to create innovative solutions that reduce risk and enhance productivity; lead risk assessments and transform safety data into actionable strategies. Build and develop a high-performing WHS team; foster a culture of continuous improvement and excellence. Drive Safety Leadership & Innovation: transform safety culture, drive continuous improvement, leverage technology and analytics to implement preventive safety measures, measure performance against WHS policies, analyze metrics, and conduct site audits to address non-compliance. Strategic Partnership & Influence: partner with Operations leadership to integrate safety into all business aspects, influence strategic decisions with risk insights, maintain recordkeeping, WHS training programs, and oversee safety governance. Travel 50-70% of the time and work various shifts. Oversee incident management and investigations, conduct business reviews and leadership meetings, manage staff development and training, monitor safety assessments and compliance, oversee emergency preparedness, and maintain stakeholder relationships. Drive continuous improvement through regular site inspections, performance monitoring, and implementation of safety initiatives. Support sites and WHS staff across North American regions to drive safety excellence and compliance. Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in EHS and/or environmental programs in manufacturing, production, or service operations 5+ years of increasing responsibilities in people and performance management Experience implementing lean principles and process improvement in an operational environment Distribution Center or Manufacturing WHS experience with a mix of exempt and non-exempt employees at a site of at least 250 people Master’s degree Certified Safety Professional Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including comfort interfacing with site leaders Ability to develop and implement department goals and strategies Strong analytical skills with demonstrated problem solving ability First Aid, CPR, AED certification (or willingness to obtain within 3 weeks of start date) from the American Heart Association or American Red Cross Travel & Work Environment
This position requires the flexibility to travel 50-70% of the time and work various shifts. Ability to lift up to 49 pounds, frequently push/pull/squat/bend/reach; stand/walk for up to 12 hours; work in varying noise levels and temperatures; continuously climb and descend stairs where applicable. The base pay for this position ranges from $84,800/year to $155,500/year, with pay based on factors including location, knowledge, skills, and experience.
