Lead modeling and simulation efforts to support development of the next generation of XR devices Perform Finite Element (FEA) modeling and simulations using Ansys, COMSOL, or similar software (Ansys strongly preferred) Interpret FEA results and provide physical explanations and possible solutions to problems Recommend design changes/directions to meet device performance requirements, participate in team brainstorming and new technology development Perform mechanical design of prototype devices and testbeds Lead model verification and validation. Design data collection/testing methods and plans. Work closely with partner teams to inform model development and validation Minimum Qualifications
Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience. Degree must be completed prior to joining Meta PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, or similar discipline 3+ years experience in static and dynamic FEA in high volume consumer electronic products Proficiency in developing scripts to automate thermal and mechanical simulations and optimization Experience with FEA tools (COMSOL or ANSYS) Experience with CAD tools (NX, SolidWorks) Proficient in Matlab and Python scripting Preferred Qualifications
Detail-oriented with critical thinking, structured problem solving, and practical application of Design of Experiments (DOE) and Statistical Analysis (Monte Carlo) Experience with end-to-end model development, iterations, and validation Experience in Electronics Reliability, E-CAD/M-CAD File Conversion Experience with scripting for model parameterization (Ansys APDL). Experience with cloud computing, simulation parallelization, automation and GPU acceleration Experience with MEMS Multiphysics Analysis & Reduced Order Modeling Experience with Multi-Disciplinary Optimization Experience with Multiphysics Topology Optimization Experience with CFD Analysis Experience with open source FEA tools (Fenics, etc.) Experience with electromagnetics, wireless architecture, RF silicon systems is a plus About Meta
