Integrated Openings Solutions, LLC (“IOS”) is a commercial and architectural openings solutions company. We provide industry leading commercial doors and hardware products and services to help make buildings smart, aesthetically pleasing, code compliant and sustainable.
Position Overview
The Director, People Operations will lead the organization’s efforts to create a thriving, people-centered culture that supports our mission and growth. Reporting to the Chief of Staff, this leader will act as a strategic partner to the executive team, aligning HR initiatives with business objectives and ensuring that every stage of the teammate experience reflects IOS’ core values.
This role oversees the full spectrum of People Operations, including culture, talent acquisition and retention, benefits, compliance, HR systems, performance management, and organizational development. The Director will also play a pivotal role in integrating new teammates and cultures during mergers and acquisitions, ensuring a seamless experience across divisions and locations.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Partnership
Partner with senior leaders to align people strategies with business goals, offering insights and recommendations that drive organizational performance and culture. Provide thought leadership on workforce planning, organizational design, and talent development to support current and future business needs.
Culture & Teammate Experience
Champion the company’s core values: Hungry, Humble, Smart, and ensure they are woven into all people programs, policies, and communications. Design and lead initiatives that strengthen teammate engagement, satisfaction, and retention. Develop recognition and communication programs that celebrate teammates, milestones, and successes. Serve as a trusted resource for employees, fostering an inclusive and positive workplace culture.
Talent Acquisition & Retention
Oversee recruitment strategies and collaborate with the People Operations Team and hiring managers to attract, onboard, and retain top talent. Ensure a positive candidate experience and consistent, equitable hiring practices. Develop retention strategies that build loyalty and reduce turnover across divisions.
Performance & Development
Lead the performance management cycle, including goal setting, performance reviews, succession planning, and career pathing. Design and implement training and professional development programs that enhance teammate skills, leadership capabilities, and career growth.
HR Operations & Systems
Oversee HRIS administration, ensuring data accuracy, operational efficiency, and seamless teammate lifecycle management. Partner closely with Finance to align payroll processes with HR operations. Continuously evaluate and optimize HR workflows to improve scalability and service delivery.
Benefits & Compliance
Oversee benefits strategy and administration in partnership with our third-party provider (Lockton), ensuring offerings remain competitive and cost-effective. Manage annual benefits evaluation and open enrollment processes. Serve as an internal subject matter expert on benefits, providing guidance to leaders and teammates. Ensure full compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, regulations, and internal policies.
Policy & Process Management
Develop, implement, and maintain HR policies, procedures, and the employee handbook to align with organizational goals and evolving market trends. Monitor legislative and regulatory changes, proactively updating policies and practices to maintain compliance.
Employee Relations
Act as a trusted advisor to managers and employees, providing guidance on workplace issues and conflict resolution. Ensure fair, consistent application of policies and practices across all divisions. Promote diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all aspects of the teammate experience.
Data & Analytics
Define and track HR performance metrics (e.g., retention rates, engagement scores, recruitment effectiveness). Analyze workforce data to identify trends, measure program impact, and support strategic decision-making.
Mergers & Acquisitions (M&A)
Lead cultural and operational HR integration efforts during acquisitions, ensuring smooth transitions for new teammates. Build relationships with acquired teams to support alignment with company values and processes.
Travel
Travel regularly to company offices, divisions, and acquisition sites as needed to build connections, deliver programs, and ensure consistent teammate experiences.
Qualifications
10+ years of progressive experience in Human Resources, or a related field, including leadership roles multi-division organizations. Written and verbal fluency in Spanish strongly preferred. Experience working in the commercial openings or construction industry preferred. Demonstrated success in strategic HR leadership, including performance management, talent development, and workforce planning. Proven ability to leverage HRIS and data analytics to inform strategy and drive results Experience collaborating with third-party benefits providers and internal cross-functional teams (e.g., Finance, Operations, Sales). Track record of leading M&A integration with a focus on people and culture. Exceptional communication, relationship-building, and problem-solving skills. Energetic, hands-on, and approachable leadership style with a passion for fostering an inclusive, positive teammate experience. Strong alignment with our core values: Hungry, Humble, Smart. Willingness and ability to travel regularly as required.
