Job Title: Senior Accountant

They are looking for a proactive Senior Accountant to join their finance team and play a critical role in supporting cost accounting, monthly close, and financial reporting. Position Summary
The Senior Accountant will focus on month-end close activities, cost analysis, and inventory accounting, while also preparing financial statements and reconciliations. This role is highly visible, partnering with Operations, Supply Chain, and Corporate Finance to deliver insight into production costs, margins, and overall financial performance.
Key Responsibilities
Perform month-end close duties including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and variance analysis.
Oversee cost accounting functions: maintain standard costs, analyze variances, and monitor manufacturing overhead allocation.
Prepare and reconcile inventory accounts, including work-in-process, finished goods, and raw materials.
Compile monthly financial statements and reporting packages for management review.
Support annual budgeting and quarterly forecasting processes; provide explanations of variances.
Manage fixed asset accounting including project tracking, capitalizations, and depreciation.
Assist with internal and external audits by providing schedules and supporting documentation.
Work closely with plant managers and supply chain teams to resolve discrepancies and improve data accuracy.
Contribute to process improvements within accounting and reporting functions.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or CMA preferred.
4–7 years of accounting experience with at least 2 years in a manufacturing or cost accounting environment.
Solid understanding of GAAP and cost accounting methodologies.
Proficient in Excel (pivot tables, lookups, data analysis); ERP system experience (SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle, or similar) highly desirable.
Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with an ability to meet deadlines in a dynamic environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills for working with cross-functional teams.
