Senior Accountant About the Company Our client is a well-respected nonprofit organization dedicated to advancing community programs and services that make a positive social impact. Position Summary The Senior Accountant will oversee general ledger activities, reconciliations, and financial reporting while ensuring compliance with nonprofit accounting standards. This role will support both day-to-day accounting functions and strategic initiatives, playing a key role in maintaining transparency and accountability in the organization’s financials. Key Responsibilities Manage general ledger entries and month-end close processes.
Prepare and review account reconciliations, financial statements, and variance analyses.
Ensure compliance with
GAAP
and nonprofit accounting regulations.
Oversee grant tracking, reporting, and restricted fund accounting.
Support the annual budgeting process and periodic forecasting.
Assist with external audits and prepare required documentation.
Collaborate with program managers and leadership to provide financial insights.
Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; CPA or MBA a plus.
4–6 years of accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a nonprofit setting preferred.
Proficiency with accounting software (NetSuite, Blackbaud, or similar) and strong Excel skills.
Strong knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards.
Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills.
