Fully Remote (though near Denver is a plus) Job Overview

About Journey At Journey, we’re transforming how businesses interact with callers over the phone, introducing the world’s first parallel digital channel for unprecedented privacy, security, and ease of use. Our patented Zero Knowledge Network enables biometric authentication, digital ID verification, eSignatures, and compliance solutions that eliminate passwords, combat fraud, and optimize operations for enterprises, particularly in contact centers and compliance-driven industries. With over 25 patents in cybersecurity and data privacy, we empower businesses to meet PCI and GDPR standards while delivering privacy-focused innovations across voice, digital, and in-person channels. Join a nimble, developer-centric team dedicated to building scalable platforms that enhance customer journeys and protect sensitive data. The Role As Senior Product Owner – Payments, reporting to the CTO, you will own Journey’s payments product suite end-to-end, combining deep domain expertise with hands-on technical leadership. You will collaborate with a compact engineering team while also bringing your own coding and architecture skills to bear on critical initiatives. Beyond product development, you will directly lead Journey’s regulatory certification efforts (including PCI DSS v4.0 and SOC 2), ensuring that our solutions remain best-in-class for security, compliance, and enterprise scalability. This fully remote position prefers candidates in Denver for occasional team events like lunches or happy hours, offering flexibility in a high-growth, equity-driven startup environment. Key focus: delivering secure, compliant, identity-linked payment solutions to capitalize on market demand. Responsibilities

Own the full product lifecycle for Journey’s payments offerings — from vision, architecture, and requirements to development, launch, and optimization. Contribute directly to product architecture and coding (APIs, services, integrations) while collaborating with the engineering team. Lead Journey’s regulatory certification strategy and execution, including PCI DSS, SOC 2, and GDPR, working directly with auditors and compliance partners. Drive rollout of new and enhanced enterprise payment solutions, including tokenization, ACH/wire transfers, biometric-secured processing, and mobile wallets. Collaborate with engineering, sales, and compliance teams to build roadmaps that incorporate real-time fraud detection and identity-linked payments. Conduct market analysis, customer discovery, and competitive benchmarking to identify trends in payment gateways, processors, and compliance standards. Ensure all features adhere to the latest PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR, and zero-trust security requirements. Prioritize backlogs using agile practices, manage sprints, and deliver updates that minimize transaction latency and enhance customer/agent experiences. Support enterprise sales through demos, RFPs, and partnerships, translating technical and regulatory needs into actionable product enhancements. Mentor cross-functional teams on best practices in payments architecture, compliance, and security. Qualifications

7+ years of experience in payments product ownership or technical product management, with hands-on coding/architecture background. Strong expertise in payments (credit/debit card processing, ACH, tokenization, gateways such as Stripe/Adyen, and fraud prevention tools). Proven success leading enterprise-grade payments products in SaaS or fintech environments, ideally with identity or security integrations. Direct experience achieving regulatory certifications (PCI DSS, SOC 2, GDPR). Proficiency in modern programming languages (e.g., Node.js, Java, or Go) and cloud infrastructure (e.g., AWS). Familiarity with AI/ML applications in payments (fraud/anomaly detection). Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills to thrive in a startup setting. Ability to balance strategic vision with hands-on technical execution in a fast-paced team. Preferred Qualifications Denver, CO location for team-building events (100% work-from-home flexibility). Experience in contact center technologies, fintech, or identity verification. Track record of launching enterprise-grade, compliant payment solutions.
