POSITION SUMMARY:
Heelstone is seeking an entry-level Procurement Coordinator to join our renewable energy team and support sourcing and procurement activities for utility-scale renewable energy projects. This role offers an excellent opportunity to begin a career in clean energy procurement while learning about wind, solar, and battery energy storage systems (BESS) projects. The successful candidate will receive mentorship and training while supporting our experienced procurement team in delivering cost-effective solutions that meet project timelines and budget requirements. This role reports to the Procurement manager and is located in Durham, NC.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist in proposal and selection processes for major equipment, including wind turbines, solar PV modules, inverters, HV equipment, and battery storage systems Coordinate with Engineering for technical support on equipment selection Support EPC contract negotiations Support market research and supplier identification activities under guidance Support supplier onboarding and qualification processes Help maintain and update supplier databases and other procurement documentation Participate in vendor evaluation processes and data collection Assist senior team members in contract review and compliance Follow procurement best practices and departmental policies Track procurement milestones and communicate status to project teams Other duties as assigned SKILLS AND PERSONAL QUALITIES
Highly proficient in MS Office, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint Exceptional analytical capabilities and attention to detail Self-starter that operates well in an entrepreneurial and collaborative environment Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of projects and responsibilities, and resolving issues proactively. Ability to work concurrently on a variety of projects, prioritize efforts, and work effectively under pressure. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills Strong organization and management skills EDUCATION/PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Business, or related field 0-3 years of experience in procurement or related position Experience and understanding of the North American power market preferred Proven ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines Total Rewards Package
