Position Summary

Want to make a lot of people’s day? Our Member Frontline Cashier Associates are the heart of our front end. You play a major role in how our members feel in the club and when they leave. You might be the first, last, and sometimes only associate that our members interact with. That’s why it’s so important to smile, greet, and thank each and every one. We are looking for friendly faces to run registers and support our members through the self-checkout experience. The pace can be fast, especially in the evenings, on weekends, and during a holiday season. You’ll juggle several tasks in a short period while helping members: scanning items, processing payments, and maintaining a clean area. It’s hard work, but our cashiers find it rewarding as part of a large team with a common goal: happy, satisfied members.

What you’ll do

• Maintain safety of the facility according to company policies and procedures by conducting safety sweeps; following forklift spotting procedures; handling and disposing of hazardous materials; following company standards; and reporting unsafe situations to facility management.
• Provide member service by acknowledging the member and identifying needs; assisting with purchasing decisions; locating merchandise; resolving issues; promoting products and services; guiding members on self-service technology; processing purchases; assisting with various payment types; handling transactions at registers or self-checkout; organizing merchandise.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by applying related action plans and Open Door Policy in business processes and practices.
• Complete work assignments by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers and colleagues; setting priorities and deadlines; communicating progress; identifying opportunities for improvement; adapting to change and feedback.

Live Better U is a company-paid education benefit program for associates in Walmart and Sam’s Club facilities. The hourly wage range for this position is $16.00 to $23.00 per hour. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage. Additional compensation in the form of premiums may be paid under specific circumstances.
