What You'll Do
Leadership & Team Management
Lead, mentor, and develop a team of 4 engineers (design, tooling and parts manufacturing, quality/process) Assign tasks and set priorities to ensure timely and high-quality engineering deliverables Conduct regular performance evaluations, identify skill gaps, and develop training plans Foster a culture of innovation, accountability, and continuous improvement Technical Oversight
Provide guidance on sheet metal forming technologies and process development, document company expertise and know-how Review and approve engineering designs, process documentation, and tooling specifications Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for manufacturing issues Ensure compliance with aerospace industry standards (e.g., AS9100, NADCAP, customer-specific) Process Improvement & Innovation
Identify opportunities to improve forming processes, reduce cycle times, and enhance quality Participate in implementation of Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma practices Support automation initiatives, tooling enhancements, and material cost reduction projects Customer & Stakeholder Communication
Serve as technical point of contact for customers on engineering matters Prepare and present technical documentation, reports, and proposals Participate in audits, reviews, and customer meetings as required Project Management
Lead engineering efforts for new product introductions (NPI), from prototype to production Oversee timeline, cost, and risk management for engineering-related projects in coordination with the Program Managers Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Quality, Production, and Supply Chain Leadership/Collaboration: Work well across and effectively communicate with all business functions and levels within the organization and be an effective team player Proactively identify activities that will create results that do not meet expectation and then develop and communicate actions that will prevent unfavorable outcomes What You'll Bring
Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering (aerospace engineering or a related field) Minimum 8-10 years of engineering experience in aerospace manufacturing At least 3 years of experience in a leadership or managerial role Strong expertise in sheet metal forming processes and tooling design Proficiency with CAD software (e.g., SolidWorks, CATIA) and engineering analysis tools Deep knowledge of aerospace industry standards, materials, and specifications Willing/able to travel 15% to suppliers or customer sites What We Value
