Overview Job Title: Senior Billing / Accounts Receivable Accountant Location: Alexandria, VA (3-minute walk from Metro) Work Schedule: On-site: Monday–Thursday; Remote: Friday Pay: Base pay range $45.00/hr - $50.00/hr Direct message the job poster from Russell Tobin Position Summary We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Senior Billing / Accounts Receivable Accountant to support our finance operations. This role is responsible for managing billing, customer receivables, and contributing to the overall financial reporting and compliance processes. The ideal candidate will have a strong accounting background and experience in both public and private sector financial environments. Key Responsibilities Manage the full cycle of customer billing and accounts receivable , including prepaid grants and customer balance monitoring. Support record-to-report (R2R) functions and financial operations on a day-to-day basis. Align capital funding activities with statutory and regulatory reporting requirements. Assist with audit preparation , responses, and sub-ledger accounting . Participate in period-end closing activities and contribute to grants accounting processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure financial compliance and process efficiency. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance , or a related field. Minimum 4 years of relevant experience in billing, accounts receivable , or financial operations. At least 2 years in a Senior Accountant, Analyst, or Auditor role. Experience with financial institutions , government entities (Federal, State, or Local), or public/private sector accounting . CPA or CIA certification is preferred. Proficiency with PeopleSoft Finance is a strong plus.
