ER RN Job Details – Madison, WI

• Location: Madison, WI 53792 (Wisconsin healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Leading hospital in Madison, WI
• Estimated Weekly Salary: $2,130–$2,190
• Assignment Length: 13-week travel nurse contract
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• Shifts: 3x12-hour nights (19:00 – 07:30); occasional 8- or 12-hour evening/night shifts as needed (15:00 – 03:30 or 19:00 – 07:30)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend & Holiday Rotation: Required
• Floating: May float to other units or locations as needed
  
  

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Department RN experience (adult and pediatric populations)
• Prior travel nursing experience required
• Experience in high-volume, high-acuity emergency departments preferred
• Active WI or compact state RN license (must be in hand at submission)
• BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications (American Heart Association only)
• TNCC certification required
• Epic charting experience required (within last 12 months preferred)
• Basic arrhythmia and telemetry skills required (must pass telemetry exam prior to start)
• Must reside at least 50 miles from the facility (local candidates not accepted)
• Flu vaccine required (medical/religious exemptions considered)
  
  

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to diverse patient populations
• Perform triage, assessment, and treatment for trauma, cardiac, neurological, and behavioral health emergencies
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including physicians, respiratory therapists, and social workers
• Administer medications, manage IVs, and deliver advanced life support interventions
• Document patient care using Epic electronic health records
• Participate in weekend and holiday rotations; float to other units as needed
• Ensure compliance with hospital policies, procedures, and safety standards
