Overview

Badger Ham is a proud Wisconsin-based, USDA-inspected meat company with over 80 years of tradition. We are famous for our hot ham and rolls—a regional staple—and supply premium ham and deli meats across retail, deli, foodservice, and further-processor channels. We have ambitious plans for growth—including recently launched new product lines and a new building planned for 2029. We’re looking for a Sales Director to join our leadership team and take charge of driving growth, strengthening customer relationships, and positioning Badger Ham as one of America’s great meat brands. Key Responsibilities

Develop and execute sales strategies to grow retail, deli, foodservice, and industrial ingredient accounts. Manage and expand key accounts (national retailers, regional grocers, food manufacturers, restaurants, distributors). Build and implement pricing, trade promotion, and discount programs. Partner with leadership on long-term growth plans, including new facility capacity and product line expansion. Represent Badger Ham at trade shows, industry events, and community activations (e.g., Hot Ham Sundays). Build strong relationships with buyer, broker, and distributor networks. Team & Process Management

Lead, mentor, and develop sales team members to achieve ambitious goals. Collaborate with marketing to align branding, trade show strategies, and promotional campaigns. Partner with operations and finance to forecast demand, set realistic sales targets, and ensure profitable growth. Market & Competitive Insight

Track category trends (deli, prepared meats, charcuterie, plant-based) and translate insights into actionable strategies. Monitor competitor activity, pricing, and merchandising strategies to maintain a competitive edge. Qualifications

10+ years of progressive sales leadership experience in food, beverage, or CPG (meat industry preferred). Proven track record of securing and growing accounts with major grocery retailers, distributors, or foodservice chains. Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with buyers and brokers. Experience managing trade spend, pricing programs, and P&L accountability. Entrepreneurial spirit with the ability to thrive in a fast-growing, family-owned business environment. Willingness to travel (30–40%) for customer visits primarily in the state of Wisconsin. Also, trade shows, and industry events. What We Offer

Opportunity to shape the growth of a storied Wisconsin food brand. Competitive salary with performance-based bonus. Health, dental, vision, and retirement benefits. A collaborative, entrepreneurial culture with deep Wisconsin roots. The chance to build a national brand from a local favorite.
