Job Summary The Senior Process Engineer reports to the VP of Engineering and is responsible for leading the process design function within Anguil’s engineering team, overseeing the development and implementation of industrial air pollution control and wastewater treatment systems. This role ensures that all process engineering work meets applicable environmental, safety, and performance standards. The position provides technical leadership to engineering staff, supports cross-functional collaboration across departments, and drives continuous improvement in process design, simulation, and analysis. The role includes direct involvement in process documentation and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities
Provide technical leadership of Project Engineering Team
Design, develop and review process documentation including process flow diagrams (PFDs), piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs) and other engineering documentation for thermal oxidizers, energy recovery systems, scrubbers and wastewater treatment systems
Participate in customer led process hazard analyses (PHAs)
Conduct and analyze process simulations, modeling, and data analysis
Review project designs to check compliance with environmental and NFPA safety standards
Collaborate with cross-functional teams including application engineering, project management, service and R&D to support new equipment sales, troubleshoot existing equipment and drive technology development
Drive continuous improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities to enhance process design and reduce operational costs
Mentor junior engineers and contribute to building a high-performance technical team
Demonstrate and uphold the company’s four core values through actions, decisions, and interactions
Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment that supports learning and teamwork
Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned to support efficient use of company resources and ensure customer satisfaction
Skills & Qualifications
Required
Proven experience in process design and project execution
Strong understanding of thermodynamics, fluid mechanics, heat and mass transfer
Proficiency in process simulation and data analysis software
Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to customer needs and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays as project calendar or deadlines dictate
Education & Experience
Required
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Chemical Engineering
Ten (10+) years of experience in process engineering in a manufacturing or industrial setting
Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and ERP Systems
Preferred Industry Experience
Chemical processing
Oil & gas or petrochemicals
Pharmaceuticals or biotechnology
Food and beverage manufacturing
Advanced materials or specialty chemicals
