The Controls Engineer II, reporting to the Chief Electrical Engineer, is responsible for the design and programming of electrical control systems for industrial air pollution control, energy recovery, and wastewater treatment projects. Job Summary

This position works medium to high complexity level projects, applying established design principles while developing advanced technical skills. The role involves creating PLC/HMI/VFD programs, configuring control networks, ensuring compliance with safety standards, and supporting field commissioning activities. Responsibilities

Independently design and develop PLC, HMI, using Siemens TIA Portal and Rockwell Studio 5000 Create and validate control logic, alarms, safety interlocks, and sequences of operation for assigned projects Design and configure control network architectures, including Ethernet/IP, Profinet, and Modbus TCP/IP communication systems Create, review and update electrical schematics and interconnect diagrams using AutoCAD Electrical in compliance with customer specifications as well as NFPA 70/79/86 and FM Global standards Create and revise Electrical Bill of Materials (EBOMs) within the ERP platform to ensure alignment with company standards and project requirements Collaborate with panel shops on panel designs and review panel quotes and panel layout drawings to ensure they adhere to the project requirements and comply with Anguil’s panel specification Lead Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and support Site Acceptance Testing (SAT) activities Provide technical expertise in support of commissioning activities, which may include occasional on-site participation Provide technical support and troubleshooting guidance to field service engineers during installation and startup Maintain accurate project documentation, including revision-controlled programs, drawings, and test results Contribute to the improvement of programming standards, reusable code templates, and documentation practices Participate in cross-departmental project reviews to ensure alignment with technical requirements, budgets, and timelines Perform other duties as required to ensure project and departmental objectives are achieved Consistently demonstrate and uphold the company’s four core values through actions, decisions, and interactions Foster a respectful, inclusive, and collaborative environment that supports learning and teamwork Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned to support efficient use of company resources and ensure customer satisfaction Skills & Qualifications

Required Proficiency in PLC and HMI programming using Siemens and/or Rockwell platforms. Strong understanding of industrial Ethernet communication protocols Experience using AutoCAD Electrical to create and revise control panel layouts and wiring diagrams Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot control systems and implement solutions in the field Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple assignments with minimal supervision Effective communication skills, both written and verbal Strong computer knowledge of Microsoft Office Products and ERP Systems Ability to work flexible and irregular hours that may vary due to customer needs and may include day, evening, weekends and holidays as project calendar or deadlines dictate Preferred Experience with commissioning custom-engineered capital equipment Familiarity with NFPA 70/79 standards, and familiarity with NFPA86 a plus Experience with industrial combustion systems, thermal oxidizers, or water treatment equipment Education & Experience

Required Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university with a major in Electrical Engineering, Automation Engineering; or related field Two (2) to five (5) years of experience in control systems design, programming, and commissioning Anguil Environmental Systems has been in business for over 40 years.
