$199,350.00 - $246,975.00 Yearly Application Filing Dates

October 6, 2025 - November 5, 2025 Responsibilities

Plan, organize, direct and oversee district-wide insurance and risk management services and related policies and procedures at the executive level. Formulate and recommend district policies and advise executive staff and the Board of Education on potential risks. Develop cost-effective methods for procuring insurance, manage self-insurance services, and oversee the district\'s captive insurance company for property, casualty, workers\' compensation, and other areas. Develop and analyze risk metrics and reports, identify methods to minimize risks and losses, and recommend solutions. Oversee insurance and risk management expenses, budgets, and forecasts; manage self-insured loss reserves; direct the captive insurance company with emphasis on solvency and regulatory compliance. Settle Workers\' Compensation and Liability claims as authorized by the Board of Education. Represent the district in collective bargaining negotiations related to risk management functions. Note:

Minimum: Bachelor\'s degree in business administration, public administration, or a related field; coursework in law, insurance, risk management, or safety engineering is highly preferable. An advanced degree in law, insurance, or risk management is preferable. Five years of risk management experience at the management or executive level in a multi-unit operation; experience in risk finance, disability, employee group health benefits, or captive insurance is required. Public sector workers\' compensation and general liability experience is preferable. Professional certifications such as ARM, CPCU, AIC, or CEBS are preferred. Valid California driver\'s license or ability to operate a vehicle. Desired Qualities

Excellent communicator able to prepare clear reports and engage stakeholders; promote collaboration, accountability, and inclusion. Ability to align risk management with financial performance, governance, and organizational resilience. Location and On-site Requirement

Incumbents hired for this job must report to work on-site 5 days a week. Benefits
