Senior Mechanical Engineer

is a highly motivated role involving design, development, and maintenance of military and commercial hardware products. Products include robotic ground vehicles, vehicle autonomy hardware, ground robots, and ruggedized military electronic equipment for maritime applications. The candidate will act as a technical lead on projects, perform design and analysis tasks, plan and oversee design tasks, and review and approve design documentation. Location: Waltham, MA facility. Responsibilities

Design hardware products using 3D CAD modeling tools Provide oversight and tasking to other engineers on project designs Perform design and drawing checking and approval Electromechanical design, layout and modeling of electro-mechanical assemblies, robotic systems and military hardware Perform system level tolerance analysis Provide hands-on support for mechanical design and product issues related to various DOD pre-production and production programs Facilitate review meetings and present at all levels of formal design reviews Interface with vendors and identify sources of supply for critical fabrication items Create detail designs and drawings for fabrication Interface with customers on a project engineering level Participate in cost estimation for development programs Participate in the formal Engineering Change process Provide direction and guidance to other engineers and design staff Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline 5-12 years of experience in mechanical design across the product lifecycle Direct technical lead experience managing design tasks Experience in all phases of design/development (concept to production) Knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and machining processes Experience processing Engineering Changes to documentation on DOD programs Experience with formal design/development processes and transitioning projects from prototype to production Proficient with 3-D Solid Modeling software (PTC Creo and/or SolidWorks) Knowledge of design techniques, tools, and principals for production of precision plans, drawings, and models Experience with metal fabrication design and electromechanical hardware design; understanding of manufacturing techniques Experience creating detailed drawings and geometric tolerancing (ASME Y14.5) Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint Ability to obtain a DoD Security Clearance Preferred Qualifications

Experience in Model Based Definition Experience designing hardware for military vehicles or ground robotic vehicles Company EEO Statement
