Overview
Chief Credit Officer (CCO) at NPAworldwide. Oversees all aspects of the bank's credit risk management function, ensuring adequate credit risk management and full compliance with lending laws, regulations, and internal policies. Advises senior management and the Board on credit risk. Leads lending compliance, internal and external audits, and regulatory relations. Responsible for loan administration and the entire credit granting process, including policy application, periodic credit reviews, and assessment of creditworthiness to optimize loan mix, sales, outstanding balances, and credit risk. Oversees the loan administration function of the bank. Essential Job Functions
Accountable for credit underwriting strategy and execution including setting credit policy and working with the CEO to identify risks. Develop department financial goals including credit quality, volume and risk distribution. Provide recommendations on loan structure, terms, risk rating and pricing. Implement and monitor credit policies and procedures with controls to maintain asset quality and credit risk management. Manage the credit analysis and administration teams including recruitment, development, compensation, and performance management. Review, modify, approve or decline loans within lending authority; serve as primary concurrence officer for credits outside loan committee or needing exceptions or approvals. Ensure consistency with credit criteria, information guidelines, underwriting requirements, and portfolio performance expectations. Manage Special Assets and oversee resolution of classified assets; coordinate with Controller on FASB 114 impairments and ALLL reporting, including TDRs. Prepare and distribute reports on loan quality, growth trends, and product concentrations. Use the quarterly ALLL to advise on loss reserves based on economic conditions and portfolio trends. Review real estate data and assess impact on the loan portfolio. Participate in bank committees (e.g., ALLL Committee, Board Loan Committee, Loan Committee). Represent the client in customer and industry functions to enhance market position. Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, statistics or related field. MBA/CPA/Graduate School of Banking a plus. 15+ years of commercial banking experience in credit administration, analysis, and risk mitigation with direct credit approval and supervisory experience in CRE, C&I lending and leasing. 15+ years of progressive leadership experience. Knowledge of data management and reporting software; banking/lending experience required. Passion for community banking is essential. Skills & Requirements
Strong understanding of loan underwriting, lending process, controls and policies for consumer and small business loans. Strong understanding of legal and regulatory guidance governing bank lending. Experience in small and middle market lending, CRE, construction lending, and Participation loan management a plus. Experience in problem loan management and ALLL methodologies.
