We are looking for an experienced Accounting Manager to oversee financial operations for a non-profit organization in Salt Lake City, Utah. This Contract to permanent position offers the opportunity to lead critical accounting functions, including month-end closings, reconciliations, and financial reporting. If you have a strong background in managing general ledger activities and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, this role could be an excellent fit.
Responsibilities:
• Lead month-end close processes, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in financial reporting.
• Oversee general ledger activities, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
• Prepare and review financial statements and balance sheet reconciliations.
• Utilize advanced Excel functions such as pivot tables and data analysis to support financial modeling and reporting.
• Manage payroll processes using Paylocity for a small team, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to nonprofit accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Collaborate with other departments to provide financial insights and support grant reporting activities.
• Supervise accounts receivable and payable processes, maintaining accuracy and efficiency.
• Drive improvements in financial operations and reporting systems.
• Support audits by preparing necessary documentation and responding to inquiries.• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance is required.
• Minimum of 5 years of progressive accounting experience, with at least 2 years in a managerial role.
• Nonprofit experience is highly preferred.
• Proficiency in Paylocity and payroll management for small teams.
• Advanced Excel skills, including financial modeling and data analysis.
• Strong understanding of accounts receivable, accounts payable, and month-end close procedures.
• Familiarity with nonprofit accounting standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent problem-solving and communication skills, with a detail-oriented approach.
