CVICU is a fast paced specialized Cardiac ICU, will float to IMC and ICU as needed......MUST HAVE FRESH HEARTS
ROTATING D/N
Required:
2 years current and strong fast paced experience CICU/CVICU
BLS, ACLS
4 weekend shift per 4 week schedule = 12 wkd shifts per 12 week contract
Patient Diagnoses:
Post open heart- CABG, Valves, Aortic repair. New TAVR program (1-3 pts/week at this time). Our unit does not use impellas, VADs, or ECMO at this time. We will cannulate for ECMO temporarily, if the patient needs to remain on ECMO he/she will be transfered to a ECMO facility
ICU diagnoses include (not limited to):
Septic shock, overdose, neurosurgery, stroke
s/p TPA/Tenecteplase, post cardiac cath, post MI, cardiac tamponade, renal failure, GI surgeries, vascular surgery, DKA, Covid, ARDS
Special Procedures/Unit Details:
This is a new, growing CV surgery program. We have 6 beds outfitted for CV situated within a 38 beds ICU. All CVICU nurses will care for ICU patients as well. Not all ICU nurses are trained to care for CVICU patients.
CVICU patients are 1:1 for the first 8-12 hours then transition to 1:2 unless they are unstable and 1:1 is needed for patient safety.
