Overview

Role: Receptionist at Trinity Arts and Leisure – Bedford (The Bedford College Group).

Location: Trinity Arts and Leisure – Bedford

Salary: Between £25,467 and £26,499 per annum (Pro-Rata). Hours: 16 hours per week – 52 weeks per year. Contract Type: Permanent – Part Time. Expires: 21/10/2025 23:59

Responsibilities

  • Front-of-House Service – Provides a professional, friendly, and efficient reception experience for all Trinity Arts & Leisure visitors, handling enquiries in person, by phone, and email.
  • Bookings & Administration – Manages bookings, memberships, payments, and attendance records using the centre’s systems, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial procedures.
  • Customer Engagement & Promotion – Promotes facilities, memberships, and events to maximise participation and income, while supporting the delivery of events and maintaining excellent communication.
  • Environment & Safety – Helps maintain a safe, tidy, and welcoming environment, following safeguarding, equality, and health and safety procedures at all times.
  • Teamwork & Continuous Improvement – Supports colleagues across the site, contributes to a culture of teamwork and customer excellence, and undertakes training and development as required.

About You

  • Qualifications & Experience – Holds (or is willing to achieve) GCSE English and Maths; brings experience in customer-facing roles within leisure, hospitality, or similar environments.
  • Customer Service & Communication – Demonstrates excellent interpersonal skills, a friendly and professional manner, and a strong understanding of customer service principles.
  • Technical & Administrative Skills – Confident using booking systems, tills, and Microsoft Office; handles cash and electronic payments accurately with strong attention to detail.
  • Personal Attributes & Teamwork – Positive, reliable, and adaptable team player with the ability to multitask, stay calm under pressure, and maintain a customer-focused attitude.
  • Commitment & Compliance – Committed to inclusion, safeguarding, and continuous improvement; flexible to work evenings/weekends and able to pass an enhanced DBS check.
