Salary: Competitive salary of $31,200 ($15 an hour) with great benefits. Schedule: Friday - Monday 8:00 AM - 6:30 PM. Location: Atlanta Campus.

Duties

• The ideal candidate provides custodial care for Georgia State University facilities. Cleans and performs room set-ups in assigned building areas following established routines and procedures. Assignments may fall into one of the following groupings, although overlapping duties may occur as needed:
• Sweeps, dust mops, wet mops, scrubs, strips, restores, buffs, and waxes floors; vacuums.
• Removes trash, cleans counters, equipment, and furnishings.
• Maintains cleanliness of laboratories, office areas, classrooms, and other assigned work areas.
• Cleans and restocks restrooms.
• Sets up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and other public areas.
• Handles emergency clean-ups; performs other related work as needed.
• Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push and pull floor equipment, push and pull large trash barrels, and lift full trash bags weighing 30 pounds.
• Employees will use cleaning chemicals daily and may work around potentially dangerous materials in laboratories.

Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

• Must be able to lift approximately 30-50 lbs.

Preferred Requirements:

• High School Diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be able to lift approximately 30-50 lbs. and perform heavy lifting when required.
• Some knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
• Six months of experience working in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting preferred.
