What You Will Do
- Provide custodial care for Georgia State University facilities and clean rooms in assigned building areas following established routines and procedures.
- Perform floor care including sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, stripping, restoring, buffing, waxing, and vacuuming as needed.
- Remove trash, clean counters, equipment, and furnishings; maintain cleanliness of laboratories, offices, classrooms, and other assigned work areas.
- Clean and restock restrooms and set up chairs, tables, and other equipment in classrooms, meeting rooms, and public areas.
- Handle emergency clean-ups; perform other related work as needed.
- Must be able to bend, twist, reach overhead, push/pull floor equipment, and lift full trash bags weighing approximately 30 pounds.
- Must possess a normal degree of dexterity.
Minimum Requirements
- Must be able to lift approximately 30-50 lbs.
Preferred Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Must be able to lift approximately 30-50 lbs; able to perform heavy lifting when required.
- Some knowledge of custodial services practices, techniques, and procedures.
- Six months of experience in an institutional, industrial, or commercial setting preferred.
