Responsibilities
Provide legal support to internal departments with a strong focus on German employment law matters. Review, draft, and update employment contracts, policies, and employee handbooks to ensure compliance with local labor laws and internal standards. Conduct legal compliance assessments related to employment practices, benefits, working conditions, and other labor-related obligations. Provide end-to-end legal advice on employment terminations, including risk assessment, documentation, and process alignment with applicable legislation. Assist with internal investigations and advise on employee relations issues, including disciplinary procedures, workplace disputes, and claims. Monitor changes in labor and employment legislation and proactively advise internal stakeholders on potential impacts. Work closely with other in-house and external counsel to coordinate multi-jurisdictional employment matters. Draft and negotiate agreements, particularly those involving employment-related provisions or contractor relationships. Collaborate with legal colleagues in preparing and maintaining templates, guides, playbooks, and internal documentation related to employment law. Provide relevant legal advice to internal teams and customers where appropriate, balancing legal risk with practical business needs. Support cross-functional projects, especially those involving workforce structure, international employment strategies, or internal policy rollout. 2–3 years of experience (in-house experience is not essential), with a strong background in German employment law matters. Proactive, autonomous, resilient, adaptable, and eager to develop professionally. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Strong written and verbal communication skills.
