Universal Services is the enterprise IT solutions center for the departments and offices of Harris County, providing Information Technology, Public Safety and Justice Technologies, 311 Constituent Engagement Services, Fleet Services, and Records and Information Governance Services. Under the leadership of the Subscriber Services Manager, coordinate multiple projects, clearly identify priorities from project kickoff through successful customer deployment. While supporting public safety radio relating to radio code-plug template design, layout creation, installation, and programming for on-site, off-site, or remote locations as needed. May function as lead position in the absence of the Manager but would not have ongoing lead responsibility. May process radios to and from depot. This position is also responsible for performing other duties as required. Job Responsibilities
Coordinate multiple projects, clearly identify priorities from project kickoff through successful customer deployment. Performs mobile and portable radio programming using manufactures proprietary software. Performs radio subscriber template design and layout for mobile and portable radios. Perform as back up quality control on as needed. Supports walk in and drive up customers as needed. Performs hands-on, diagnostic services and documentation on two-way mobile and portable radios. May be responsible for basic to complex task typically relating to modem and Radio installation and or maintenance on equipment on site or at remote locations. Have advanced understanding of P25 Trunked Radio Systems. Three to five year’s experience with Radio programming using Motorola CPS radio programming software or Military avionics, electrical armament systems, and electronic technician experience. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
Possess excellent interpersonal and written and oral communication skills. The ability to interact with staff at all levels. Have a strong work ethic and be detailed oriented. Strong knowledge of personal computers, Microsoft Office Suite, INFO Cloud suite, Genesis, and other various radio and non-radio programming software. Ability to lift at least 25 lbs. and/or move boxes and equipment as needed. Subject to standing, walking, sitting, climbing, bending/stooping, kneeling/squatting, reaching, talking, hearing, lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, twisting and reaching are needed to perform the essential functions. Special Requirements
Must complete FEMA NIMS ICS 100, 200, 300, 400, 700, 800 training within 1 year of hire. Must have a valid driver license. May be required to work more than forty hours during the workweek or on weekends for special projects or Public Safety events/incidents. Employment may be contingent on passing a drug screen and meeting other standards. Note:
