Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic scientist to join the Bioanalytical Research group within the Pharmaceutical Candidate Optimization (PCO) department in Lawrenceville, NJ. PCO is a multidisciplinary team with expertise in DMPK, toxicology, and pharmaceutics, dedicated to advancing novel drug discovery targets. As part of our diverse analytical team, the successful candidate will contribute deep expertise in protein characterization and quantitation of protein targets and biomarkers in complex biological matrices. This role is ideal for a scientist with a strong background in protein/peptide mass spectrometry and data analysis, who is eager to apply innovative technologies and methodologies for protein identification and in vivo quantitation. Our group has a proven track record in developing sensitive and selective LC-MS-based quantitative assays. Building on this foundation, the candidate will be expected to enhance our capabilities through advanced sample preparation techniques and mass spectrometric detection strategies. The goal is to define and implement optimal bioanalytical approaches that support and accelerate drug discovery programs. Job Responsibilities

Assay-development and quantification of targeted proteins in biological samples (plasma, tissue homogenates, etc.) using LC-MS and allied techniques, e.g., immunoprecipitation, SEC, Ion-exchange chromatography, SDS-PAGE. Expert operation of Orbitrap, Astral, Stellar, and Triple Quad mass spectrometers (Thermo, Sciex). Work in a team environment to integrate LC-MS, affinity technologies and multidimensional protein separation to differentiate and quantify drugs, metabolites, and protein biomarkers in biological matrices. Collaborate in a multidisciplinary research environment to address bioanalytical issues related to discovery programs and provide input into bioanalytical strategies. Represent the department on project teams and present data at internal department and external meetings and conferences. Maintain good laboratory practices and documentation (ELN). Job Requirements/Education

Ph.D. degree in analytical chemistry, biochemistry or protein science with 2-5 years of pharmaceutical or relevant industry experience, with emphasis on qualitative and quantitative protein analysis using mass spectrometry. Experience with high resolution accurate mass analysis and proteomic-type experimentation strongly desired. Experience with peptide mapping and molecular characterization of intact/subunit analysis of proteins using mass spectrometry. Experience with mass spectrometry data analysis software (Proteome Discoverer, Protein Metrics, Spectronaut, Skyline, MaxQuant, DIANN). Experience with immunocapture and/or standard biochemical protein analysis (SDS-PAGE, Western-blot, microBCA, ELISA). Experience in protein conjugation techniques for reagent labelling and immobilization. Ability to independently diagnose and solve complex technical and scientific problems. Ability to troubleshoot and perform minor instrument repairs to maintain highest performance and minimize downtime. Self-motivated with excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Able to effectively manage and interface with others in a matrix team environment. Compensation and Benefits

The starting compensation range is listed for a full-time employee. Additional incentive cash and stock opportunities may be available. Benefits include medical, dental, vision, wellbeing programs, retirement plans, paid time off, and other programs contingent on eligibility and location.
