CELT Instructional Consultant/Design Lead
in our division of Academic Affairs. The CELT Instructional Consultant/Design Lead will work at both the Purdue System level and the PFW campus level to lead large LMS-related instructional design projects and interdisciplinary teams. The pay for this position is between $63,300.00 - $68,250.00 annually. Responsibilities
Serve as PFW’s representative on the Purdue System LMS Team, comprised of various Educational Technology offices, IT services, and CELT (the pedagogically-driven office). Advocate for PFW and user functionality needs within the broader Purdue System LMS needs. Serve as CELT’s representative (and the pedagogical representative) in Purdue System Brightspace Technical Account Manager meetings, as needed. Investigate the pedagogical impacts of potential and necessary technical changes. Manage the development and maintenance of LMS Instructional Materials (help guides, videos, webpages, etc.). Develop communication and distribute “Brightspace Weekly” to inform, promote, and educate all faculty, TAs, and staff about upcoming changes/enhancements and LMS reminders, based on best practices, throughout the semester. Design complex digital course content for online, hybrid, and face to face; leading curriculum development projects; collaborating with and coaching faculty to design curriculum; and implementing complex and large impact designs to develop whole courses for instruction. Identify new workshop topics to be developed to support curriculum. Research, analyze, and evaluate emerging educational technologies for potential application to teaching Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Required Qualifications: MA/MS in Instructional Design, Curriculum and Instruction, Education Psychology, Instructional Technologies, or related field required.
BA/BS will be considered with previous college teaching experience 2 years consulting with faculty about teaching strategies, course design and development, and assessment. Experience using, or consulting with college faculty about, online and other distance pedagogies. Experience working in a collaborative environment. Experience designing and delivering training to faculty or other adult learners. Excellent interpersonal, team, oral, and written communication skills. Fluency with course management systems, such as Canvas, Blackboard, Brightspace, or others. Knowledge of instructional design theory and practice, best teaching practices, and best practices in consulting. Knowledge of learning theories and instructional theories. Ability to create instructional materials using authoring tools and standard multimedia applications. Preferred Qualifications: PhD or ABD. Benefits
