Together we seek an experienced Senior Accountant with strong skill sets in financial consolidation, P&C accounting and GAAP/STAT reporting.**Role & Responsibilities*** Prepare and post journal entries, reconcile key accounts (including bank and reinsurance), complete various state filings, and process accounts payable transactions.* Develop supporting schedules, analyze financial variances, and deliver analytical insights for management, including ad hoc and pro forma reporting to support decision-making.* Assist with or lead quarterly consolidation activities for the Property & Casualty (P&C) business group.* Record and reconcile reinsurance transactions and compile related audit documentation for assigned statutory entities.* Produce and evaluate loss-development analyses, financial performance reviews, and fluctuation reports to identify emerging trends and operational drivers.* Monitor general ledger activity to ensure accuracy and compliance with company policies and accounting standards.* Recommend and execute process improvements by applying analytical problem-solving and root-cause resolution techniques.* Perform additional duties and special projects as required to support the success of the finance organization.**Key Skills*** Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required.* At least 3 years of progressive accounting experience; prior exposure to the insurance industry strongly preferred.* Solid understanding of accounting principles, business operations, and financial systems, with strong technical fluency in accounting and finance applications.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and MS Teams; experience with Workiva (Wdesk), IBM Analytics, or BizNet considered a plus.* Proven ability to manage multiple projects, balance priorities, and meet critical deadlines.* Familiarity with internal controls over financial reporting (SOX) preferred.* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues, auditors, regulators, and external partners.This is a full-time, permanent role offering the opportunity to join a high performing and tenured insurance accounting team.
