QUALIFICATIONS AND DUTIES OF SERVER / SYSTEMS ADMINISTRATOR
POSITION:
Server/Systems Administrator
QUALIFICATIONS:
The qualified candidate must have sharp attention to detail and the ability to work under tight deadlines with quickly shifting priorities. Proficiency with
Windows Server ,
Active Directory ,
Exchange or Microsoft 365 , and
VMware
(or comparable virtualization platforms) Familiarity with
PowerShell scripting ,
system automation , and
networking fundamentals
(TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP) Experience with
backup and disaster recovery solutions
(e.g., Veeam, Commvault, Acronis). Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail. Excellent communication, organization, and time management abilities. Relevant certifications (e.g.,
MCSA/MCSE ,
VMware VCP ,
CompTIA Server+ ,
Azure Administrator ) preferred. Must be willing to work late and irregular hours and be comfortable collaborating with high-level administrators, teachers and students. EDUCATION AND TRAINING
Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field, or 3 -5 years of experience in systems or server administration related to implementing and operating an Active Directory and Exchange Infrastructure, including updates to Server OS, VM of Server and backup and restore of systems.

Director of Information and Instructional Technology
JOB GOALS:
To support and maintain the District Server Infrastructure, do upgrades, monitor of security issues, apply patches, including the Print Server and all printing.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Server Management:
Install, configure, and maintain Windows and/or Linux servers, including file, print, applications, and database servers. Active Directory Administration:
Manage user accounts, group policies, permissions, and organizational units in Microsoft Active Directory. Virtualization & Cloud Systems:
Maintain and optimize virtualized environments (VMware, Hyper-V) and assist with cloud integrations (Microsoft 365, Azure, or AWS). Network & Security Support:
Collaborate with network engineers to ensure secure, stable connectivity; apply security patches, updates, and antivirus/email security gateway policies and maintain secure access to all IT Infrastructure locations. Backup & Disaster Recovery:
Manage backup systems, perform regular testing, and maintain disaster recovery documentation and procedures. System Monitoring & Performance:
Proactively monitor system health and resource utilization, troubleshoot performance issues, and recommend enhancements. Documentation:
Maintain accurate records of configurations, licenses, system changes, and standard operating procedures. User & Technical Support:
Provide tier-3 support for escalated issues related to servers, storage, printing, testing and authentication systems. Project Implementation:
Plan and execute infrastructure upgrades, migrations, and new technology initiatives aligned with departmental goals. Attend training and professional meetings to maintain a high level of technical skill and advances in the field. Other duties as may be delegated from time to time by the supervisor and the supervisor may make any adjustment in the scope of responsibilities outlined above.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT:
Twelve-month basis. Salary and working calendar to be approved by the Board.
