Job Details
Position: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) – 13-week travel assignment in Madison, WI. This role focuses on direct patient care and collaboration with nurses and healthcare teams to support patients with daily needs.
Required Qualifications
- One year of recent CNA experience
- Valid CNA registration in compliance with state regulations
- Current BLS (AHA/ARC) or CPR certification
Preferred Qualifications
- Other certifications may be required depending on facility requirements
Summary
A Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) provides direct patient care and supports patients with daily needs. This includes activities such as bathing, dressing, mobility, and monitoring patient conditions in coordination with the healthcare team.
Essential Work Functions
- Record vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration)
- Assist with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting)
- Provide mobility assistance (repositioning, transfers, ambulation)
- Assist with feeding and meal support as needed
- Monitor and report changes in patient condition to nursing staff
- Offer emotional support and companionship to patients and families
- Document patient care and observations accurately and timely
- Adhere to infection control, safety, and healthcare regulations
- Perform other duties as assigned within the scope of practice
Required Essential Skills
- Critical thinking, service excellence, and strong interpersonal communication
- Ability to read, write, and communicate in English
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; proficient in PC skills
- Physical ability to remain in a stationary position, move, lift 50-100 lbs, push/pull, and bend
- Ability to work with diverse personnel and maintain a positive attitude
- Technical/motor skills for assisting with procedures and equipment
- Mental ability to handle deadlines, irregular schedules, and detail-oriented tasks
- Visual acuity and effective communication skills
