Vaco has partnered with a reputable Construction Organization in the Great Boston area and they are looking to hire an Accounting Manager to their team. The Accounting Manager will play a key leadership role within the finance team, overseeing day-to-day accounting operations, ensuring compliance with GAAP, and supporting project teams with accurate financial insights. Key Responsibilities
Oversee the general ledger, monthly close process, and preparation of financial statements Manage job cost accounting and support project teams with budget tracking and analysis Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accuracy, efficiency, and collaboration Ensure compliance with internal controls, GAAP standards, and company policies Assist with audit preparation, tax compliance, and coordination with external auditors Partner with operations and project management to provide financial guidance and reporting Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy Support forecasting, cash flow management, and other strategic finance initiatives Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA preferred 5–8+ years of progressive accounting experience, ideally within construction, real estate, or related industries Strong understanding of job cost accounting Proficiency with ERP systems Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco/Highspring depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to the individual’s skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, office location and other geographic considerations, as well as other business and organizational needs. With that said, as required by local law in geographies that require salary range disclosure, Vaco/Highspring notes the salary range for the role is noted in this job posting. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, and can participate in medical, dental, and vision benefits as well as the company’s 401(k) retirement plan.
