West Region Alternative Delivery Lead role at HDR within the Power Sector, Power Delivery Practice. Responsible for planning, pursuing, managing, and delivering power delivery alternative delivery (AD) projects in the electric transmission, substation, distribution, and renewables (medium/high voltage) markets. Drive collaboration between HDR’s global power delivery staff and construction partners, focusing on mitigating engineering risks associated with AD projects. Primary responsibilities

Provide overall leadership for elevating the power delivery AD program within HDR’s West Region (Alaska, Washington, Oregon, Idaho, Montana, California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, New Mexico, Hawaii) in collaboration with the Power Sector AD Director. Partner with business development, operations and technical leadership to develop new opportunities, markets and staffing plans. Drive teaming agreement negotiations with potential construction partners that align with HDR’s business goals and initiatives, in coordination with AD Director, operations and legal counsel. Lead and drive development of a power delivery FEED team to evaluate and mitigate technical risk of AD opportunities prior to and during Go/No-Go decisions; FEED may include substation physical, substation electrical, transmission structural/foundation, distribution and/or site civil professionals. Review AD project intel, opportunities and RFPs with technical teams to estimate technical investments prior to Go/No-Go discussions. Assist in Go/No-Go discussions, project risk assessments, SOQs, proposals, interviews, and negotiations as required. Develop scope, schedule and budget with pursuit teams, focusing on AD-specific activities and risks (procurement, construction support, critical path scheduling, etc.). Provide AD best practice guidance to pursuit and project delivery teams. Collaborate with HDR regional/area leaders to deliver quality engineering, environmental, real estate, geospatial and construction support services for power delivery AD projects. Build AD project teams, including AD project managers, technical leaders, project controls and commercial managers, with roles identified by the AD leadership team. Act as senior advisor during AD project execution, providing project delivery support including contract administration and management. Serve as Project Manager or Engineering Manager on select power delivery projects (AD and traditional delivery). Oversee production sections including project delivery, staffing, recruiting, quality, utilization, workload forecasting, work-sharing, safety and morale. Mentor and develop other employees; perform other duties as needed. Report to Power Sector Alternative Delivery Director. Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Civil and/or Mechanical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field. Minimum 15 years of power delivery experience. Minimum 5 years building and/or managing engineering teams on EPC projects. Strong leadership and project management experience with multiple remote teams. Understanding of contractual risk and mitigation in AD models. Proven experience managing projects, client relationships, proposals and business development. Self-starter with strong writing and communication skills. Strong conceptual, organizational and collaborative skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office and conferencing platforms. Up to 30% travel. Professional Engineer licensure or DBIA certification preferred. Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in related field. 10 years related experience. Minimum 5 years of project management experience. Proficiency with Microsoft Office, estimating and scheduling software, and project management software. Ability to interact with various design teams with excellent organizational, project management and communication skills. Active participation in HDR’s employee-owned culture is required. Compensation varies by experience and location; the targeted salary range for this position is $118,703 - $245,000 depending on skills and location. Primary location: United States-Montana-Billings.
