The Optometrist is a medical provider who provides comprehensive vision and eye care services. The Optometrist evaluates patients to determine potential vision problems, eye disease or conditions and if the patient requires any subsequent care to address. They work closely with Ophthalmologists to provide a comprehensive eye care model to take care of all the patients’ needs. Responsibilities
Provide integrated, team-based primary eye care alongside ophthalmologists in the practice. Perform comprehensive eye exams, diagnose and manage common ocular conditions (such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and dry eye), prescribe corrective lenses, and co-manage pre- and post-operative care. Collaborate with ophthalmologists to triage and manage patients efficiently, enable timely referrals of complex cases, and contribute to clinical education and research within the academic setting. Qualifications
