Our Wholesale Solutions team at AXA XL focuses on Excess and Surplus lines and is poised for growth. As an Associate Underwriter, you will support the Underwriting team and act as the owner and principal facilitator of assigned accounts. The Associate Underwriter will perform front-to-end activities throughout the life cycle of renewal and prospect accounts from submission to expiration with Underwriting oversight. This program will launch in June/July of 2026. What you’ll be doing

What will your essential responsibilities include?

Pre-underwrites, evaluates risk, and assesses completeness of the underwriting package before underwriter is required to review. Communicate directly with Brokers on behalf of the Underwriters to collect account and insured information necessary for risk analysis. Perform and apply knowledge of line of business specific product underwriting rules and/or guidelines for pre-analysis support of submission in preparation of further analysis for quoting stage. Develop initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk on behalf of the Underwriter. Collaborate effectively with Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and internal units within AXA XL to manage the status and workflow of multiple tasks and accounts. Communicate account status to ensure completion of outstanding subjectivities needed to execute policy issuance and premium collection as part of bound accounts. Develops initial pricing, basic coverage structuring, quotation, and binder packages of the risk on behalf of the underwriter. Calculate base rating and apply experience modifications as part of underwriting package completed by Underwriting Support Unit for Underwriter review. Manage the workflow of multiple tasks and maintain a detailed understanding of the status of various tasks owned by Underwriters, Brokers, Reinsurers, and AXA XL internal network. Communicate account status to ensure completion of all tasks including premium collection as part of bound accounts. Collaborate and correspond verbally and in written format with internal and external contacts across the country, keeping in mind differences in time zones, to achieve a high level of service and meet client expectations. The U.S. base salary range for this position is $66,600- 105,100 USD. Actual pay will be determined based upon the individual’s skills, experience and location.
